Please join us for a training on understanding and working with LGBTQ+ survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual violence. We will spend the first half of the presentation reviewing common terminology used in LGBTQ+ communities and unpacking commonly misunderstood concepts related to sex, gender, and sexual orientation. The second half will address issues specific to working with LGBTQ+ survivors including unique challenges in assessment and possible interventions. Throughout the presentation, we will discuss implications for clinical practice and program structure to increase your capacity for serving LGBTQ+ survivors.
